# Getting set up
> The first hour in Paydai. Sign up, complete the setup checklist, and connect payments so the rest of the product works.

A merchant lands, picks that they are a business owner, creates the workspace, and then works through a checklist that unlocks the rest of the product. Nothing else in Paydai works properly until payments are connected.
## Walkthrough
Sign up to first product live, end to end. Roughly 8 minutes.
## What you can do

## Watch out for
The checklist is not the same length for every merchant.
* **Connect your Whop company** appears only for Whop merchants.
* **Set your payout schedule** appears only when Stripe or Fanbasis is connected. A Whop only merchant sets the schedule in [Settings](/merchant/paydays-and-payout-rules) instead and never sees this step.
* **Share your stats** appears only once the workspace has revenue worth sharing.
Count the steps on your own account before anyone promises you "seven steps and you are done".
Finishing the checklist hides the progress widget. If you want it back on screen, there is nothing left to do.
